COVID-19 EFFORTS

APAPA has been working diligently to spread awareness in the Asian American and Pacific Islander community on the need to continue wearing masks and practice social distancing. Recently, we had the opportunity to interview frontline workers such as family doctors, nurses, pediatricians and medical staff, about the effects COVID-19 has had in our communities. We would like to express our appreciation to those who participated; Daniel Chang, Asian Resources Center of Oakland, and the Chinese Hospital of San Francisco for their help in making this project possible. Thank you for being our community heroes.

Stop the Spread of COVID-19,
Wear a Mask

The fight isn’t over and it’s our job to stop the spread! It is necessary for our community to wear a mask as we continue to fight against two viruses: COVID-19 and racism! Our community stands up for what we believe in through rallying and policy change advocacy. But, we must end COVID-19 as we also fight to stop Asian hate. Take the appropriate preventative measures to protect those around you and continue to social distance, wear a mask, wash your hands and most importantly, get vaccinated!

Keep Yourself Safe,
Get the COVID-19 Vaccine

Our hope to end the COVID-19 pandemic is here. Scientists have worked diligently to secure vaccines that are safe, effective and will protect you from the vicious virus. Concerned about receiving the COVID-19 Vaccine? The COVID-19 Vaccine is safe, it does NOT contain the virus and will NOT give you COVID-19. The side effects of the vaccines are normal and not dangerous. Do your part and keep yourself and your loved ones safe. Get vaccinated!

APAPA has also created infographics to distribute to the APIA population in Chinatown Sacramento, California; Chinatown Oakland, California; and Chinatown San Francisco, California. The goal of these infographics is to create awareness of the COVID-19 vaccines and their safety, and to encourage the APIA community to continue practicing social distancing and hygienic measures. Help us spread the word; download the infographics below.
