APAPA Welcomes Committed Leaders to the national governing board
SACRAMENTO - The Asian Pacific Islander Public Affairs Association (APAPA) announces the addition and election of several new members to the National Governing Board. This special board oversees the organization’s activity, establishes policies, and makes significant and strategic decisions. The position of the Chair is currently held by Henry Yin, and has previously been held by Ken Fong and C.C. Yin, who has remained as chair emeritus.
“APAPA is fortunate to recruit these professionals and committed community leaders whose mission aligns with ours. From a White House appointee to a California gubernatorial appointee, these leaders will continue to help us advocate, build, and grow in the upcoming years,” said CC Yin, APAPA Founder.
Newly joining the APAPA NGB are several established and committed community leaders: Lining He (Syracuse, N.Y.), Irene Li (California), and Dr. Amy Matecki (California).
Lining He, National Governing Board Member:
Lining He is an entrepreneur with an extensive leadership record in serving the community, including being a founding member of APAPA-Syracuse Chapter, Board Chair and President of the Chinese Community Center of the Capital Region of New York, Executive Director of the Global Asian Carp Coalition, Student Senator at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Policy Analyst for the New York State Assembly. Since 2016, Lining has been working extensively on regional development projects by turning invasive species into economic opportunities in rural America. Professionally, Lining He serves as a Managing Partner at OneStream Capital and holds a Ph.D. in Ecological Economics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a Master degree in International Economics from McMaster University in Canada, and a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China. Dr. He is a husband, a father of two and an active community member in Syracuse, NY.
Irene Li, National Governing Board Member:
Irene Li joins the APAPA NGB as a new board member and also currently serves as the President of the Peninsula Board Member. She is the President and CEO of Acellent Technologies, Inc., a leading technology company providing real-time Structural Health Monitoring and Management. Prior to Acellent, Li spent seven years at Hewlett-Packard most recently as a Global Program Manager overseeing Internet security and monitoring. The National Taipei University has recognized Li as a distinguished alum where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Planning. She also earned a Master of Science degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University.
Dr. Amy Matecki, National Governing Board Member:
Dr. Amy Matecki is a governor appointee on the California Acupuncture Board where she has served since 2016. Dr. Matecki has been Medical Director for Complementary and Integrative Medicine at Sutter Health Alta Bates Summit Medical Center since 2008, where she was an Internal Medicine Hospitalist from 2004 to 2006. Dr. Matecki has been a Consultant for Integrative Medicine and an Internal Medicine Hospitalist at Northern California Hematology and Oncology Consultants Inc. since 2004. Dr. Matecki is president of the International Center for Integrative Medicine. She earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Qingdao University Medical College and a Master of Science degree in traditional Chinese medicine from the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences.
Current APAPA NGB board members are: Henry Yin, Simon Pang, Joe Johal, Tony Lin, Michelle Wang, Dr. Alvin Cheung, Lining He, Dr. Amy Matecki, Irene Li, and Mary Yin Liu. Honorary members are: C.C. Yin, Regina Yin, Ken Fong, Sandy Chau, and Hsing Kung. APAPA is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the AAPI communities through leadership and civic engagement.
