California AANHPI Advocacy Day Coalition Fox 40 Feature

SACRAMENTO (FOX 40) - A coalition of 100+ AANHPI organizations from around the state of California convened at the state capitol to bring their voices and messages about how 5 bills would impact their communities. A press conference featuring Sacramento Mayor McCarty, Assemblymembers Stephanie Nguyen and Darshana Patel, and APAPA intern and California State University at Sacramento student Dylan Morgan, rallied the day’s participants in front of the Stanley Mosk Library.

The speakers’ powerful stories set the tone, inspiring all in attendance to share their stories with each other and with their legislators. The coalition selected five priority bills for their coalition package including AB 1242 (Nguyen), AB 1186 (Patel), AB 49 (Muratsuchi), AB 863 (Kalra), and AB 590 (Lee).
