APAPA's San Diego chapter is taking a great interest in the city council district 6 race. The last API to serve on the city council was Tom Hom back in 1960. So far, 6 of the 7 running candidates are of API descent. District 6 has an API population of more than 30 percent. Thanks to Ron's leadership, APAPA will focus its efforts on holding town halls to educate voters and help mobilize API voters to the polls.
Our mission is to empower Asian and Pacific Islander (API) Americans through education and active participation in civic and public affairs. The organization educates the public about public policy and provides opportunities for our youth to gain firsthand knowledge and experience in governmental and public affairs.
