Special Projects

The Asian and Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Associaiton (APAPA) engages in a number of Special Projects throughout the year. Some of these projects are annual, "Signature" events. This includes the Capitol Internship and Scholarship Award event in the Spring of each year and the Voters Educationa and Candidates Forum each Fall.

Other annual events include our Membership Drives, Sponsor Appreciation Dinners, and year-end Holiday Mixers. APAPA was a key sponsor of the Governor's Asian and Pacific Islander Reception, which was held in 2009 and again in 2010. The venue was the historic Stanford Mansion in Sacramento.

APAPA also engages in other Special Projects that have a finite life cycle. These are goal-oriented projects, which are often supported by grants from our generous sponsors.

APAPA and its regional chapters actively support community and civic organizations working throughout California. APAPA provides volunteers, participates in events, and provides financial support to entities that share APAPA's vision and goals.

In addition to the large events descibed above, each of APAPA's regional chapters sponsor major events and projects. Also, APAPA has an active "Meet and Greet" program that puts government and business leaders together with APAPA members and community representative for informal discussions.

Meet and Greet Program

APAPA helps provide opportunities for community and business leaders to meet with government officials in an informat setting. Participants learn about and discuss issues affecting API constituencies.
